White Peak

The Peak District is a National Park in the centre of England that covers most of North Derbyshire and some parts of Staffordshire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and the southern edges of South and West Yorkshire.

This gallery is a random order selection of images of the White Peak area, so called because of its predominantly limestone geology. The White Peak mostly occupies the central and southern part of the Peak District and although there are plenty of hills and crags it is generally gentler, leafier, prettier scenery than the Dark Peak.
